How to get to the city centre from the airport?

Upon arrival at Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport, Porto, there are several ways to reach the city centre:

  • By METRO – There is a metro station at the airport (Violet line (E)). You need to purchase an “Andante azul” card (€0.60) and charge it with a Z4 trip (€2.25). Alternatively, you can buy a one-day pass (Andante Tour 1 – 24h – €7.50) or a three-day pass (Andante Tour 3 – 72h – €16.00). Tickets are available at automatic machines in all metro stations. The recommended stops are:
    • Casa da Música (connections to several buses, including 507 and 208 to FFUP - Palácio de Cristal).
    • Trindade (city centre – Av. Aliados).

IMPORTANT: Validate the Andante card before entering the metro. The ticket is valid for a 1-hour trip. Travel time to FFUP by metro and bus is approximately 40 minutes.
  • By BUS – Bus 601 runs from the airport to Palácio in approximately 45-50 minutes (departing every 30 min). You can use the Andante card (Z4 trip) or buy a ticket inside the bus. More information: STCP Bus Information.
