Call for STSM Grants
Grant Period 2
Important dates:
- Open call 2.1 – 20th December until 12th January 2024
- Open call 2.2 – 1st May until 25th May 2025
- Announcement of the results of the applications: 27th February 2025 (2.1) and 9th June 2025 (2.2)
- Last possible date for completion of STSMs: 1st September 2025
- End of 2nd STSM Grant Period: 1st September 2025
Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) are aimed at supporting individual mobility, strengthening existing researcher networks, and fostering collaborations between scientists through goal-orientated visits to a research institution or laboratory in another Participating COST Country. Proposed STSMs should specifically contribute to the scientific objectives of the COST Action, while allowing applicants to acquire new technical competencies and gain access to specific instruments and/or methods not available in their own institutions.
- Where to apply: e-COST platform
- Purpose: STSM grant funds a visit to a host organization located in a different country than the country of affiliation by a researcher or innovator for specific work to be carried out and for a determined period of time
- Evaluation of applications: by the CA22166 Core Group Members
- Duration: 5-90 days
- The required report/documentation for claiming an STSM Grant must be submitted within 30 days after the end date of the STSM or 15 days after the end of the STSM Grant Period, whichever date comes first. Failure to send the report in time will automatically cancel the grant. The required documents are:
- Report to the Action MC on the work developed, main achievements of the STSM, and planned future follow-up activities.

Call for Dissemination Conference Grants
Grant Period 2
Important dates:
- Open call 2.1 – 18th December 2024 until 12th January 2025
- Open call 2.2 – 24th February until 16th March 2025
- Open call 2.3 – 1st May until 25th May 2025
- Open call 2.4 – 1st July until 1st August 2025
- Decisions will be announced two weeks after the application is closed, respectively.
- Last possible date for conference attendance: 1st September 2025
- End of Dissemination Conference Grant Period 2: 1st September 2025
- Who can apply: Action Participants
- Oral presentation by an Action Participant of the work of the Action in a high-level conference fully organized by a third party
- Where to apply: e-COST platform
- 4 open calls throughout the Dissemination Conference Grant Period 2
- Evaluation of applications by CA22166 Core Group Members
- The required report/documentation for claiming a Dissemination Conference Grant must be submitted within 30 days after the conference, or until 15 days after the End of the Dissemination Conference Grant Period, whichever date comes first. Failure to send the report in time will automatically cancel the grant. The required documents are:
- Report to the Action MC on the outcome of the presentation, contacts made, and potential for future collaborations
- The certificate of attendance
- The programme of the conference or book of abstracts/proceedings indicating the oral presentation of the grantee
- Copy of the given presentation
- Financial support: Up to a maximum of 2500 € in total can be afforded per grant for face-to-face conferences, or 500 € for virtual conferences

- Oral presentation of the own work within the scope of the Action

- Evaluation of applications by CA22166 Core Group Members
- The required report/documentation for claiming an ITC Conference Grant must be submitted within 30 days after the conference, or until 15 days after the End of the ITC Conference Grant Period, whichever date comes first. Failure to send the report in time will automatically cancel the grant. The required documents are:
- Report to the Action MC on the outcome of the presentation of the accepted contribution, in terms of grantee’s visibility, including the establishment of new contacts for future collaborations (Report template)
- The certificate of attendance
- The programme of the conference or book of abstracts/proceedings indicating the oral presentation of the grantee
- Copy of the given oral presentation
